Antique Sterling Silver Long & Heavy Trombone/Paperclip & Cable Link Albert Watch Chain | 79g

A rare, robust and heavy example of an Albert chain, featuring popular trombone/paperclip links interspersed by cable links and hallmarked with the letter 'g' for 1906 by renowned watch chain makers, H.A&S, Henry Allday & Son of Warstone Lane in Birmingham.
Due to the t-bar being removable, it gives you an adjustable wearing length of between 16.5" (original dog clip to dog clip) and 20.5" with the additional piece attached, making this a longer, desirable length with versatile styling options. Whilst common to see Alberts much shorter, it's unusual to come by such a weighty and long chain in this link style.
- Weight | 79.7 grams
- Length | 16.5" - 20.5"
- Curb link width | approx. 8.7mm
- Material | 925 Sterling Silver

Details of note - I am stringent when it comes to grading findings, so my view is that the original two dog clips are a little soft in operation, however they remain in secure working order. I therefore added another near matching pair of dog clips to aid versatility so this piece has four clasps in total.
Some links do exhibit more surface wear with scores and scuffs upon close inspection, however this is cosmetic and does not detract from the functionality of the chain. I have therefore reflected this in the price, pricing it lower than I would for an example in exceptional condition. This chain could be professionally polished should you wish to restore the links, however I personally avoid this due to retaining aged patina as per my preferential policy below.

Please note, as with all antique jewellery, these pieces will have some surface wear and patina/tarnish. In order to retain their individual character, I do not offer machine polishing. However, all pieces are thoroughly cleaned.
It's important to me that I'm transparent about the condition of my pieces whilst representing them with accuracy. Photos are often magnified and may highlight 'imperfections' which may not be so present to the naked eye.
